You know what I mean?

Having a simple conversation doesn't need to be hard, but it seems nowadays that it has become exactly that. I know I'm not the only one who has had a conversation with a person who seems to end every one of their sentences with, "you know what i mean," or, "you know what I'm saying?." No, I don't know what you mean and I don't know what you're saying. Why don't you just take the time and explain it to me. That phrase seems to have become the new word at the end of the sentence to use instead of something like "ma'am" or "sir." Even "dude" or "bro" are acceptable but don't ask me if I know what you mean after every other sentence because I really don't know what you mean. And one more thing, when you start using those phrases time and time again I can't concentrate on our conversation any longer because I'm too busy counting the number of times that you use that phrase. So now I really don't know what you mean.
